Upon acceptance, students will fill out a questionnaire that helps us place them on a team and location. Each team will have four team members including a Student Team Leader.
The most asked question is “What will I be doing?” CURRENT, equips students to discover God at work and join him. Teams shape their ministry based on where they sense God is leading, dialogue with supervisor, personal giftedness, and the relationships they build with non-believers.
Ministry activities could include acts of kindness, volunteering at community events, participating in personal interests/hobbies, playing sports, and intentionally hanging out with non-believers to build trust relationships, etc. The students activities rarely take place at a “church.”
CURRENT VALUES
- We value TEAM ministries; students living, working, and growing together.
- We value walking by faith; trusting God to lead us to divine appointments.
- We value sharing the Good News through trust relationships.
- We value learning that is discovered and experienced.
- We value equipping students with ministry skills.
- We value taking initiative and “figuring it out”.
Our greatest strength is that students are exposed to a new paradigm of ministry and are equipped to engage a lost world for Christ. Our goal is to build significant relationships, engage the community, and discover a strategic contact/person of peace.
We entrust student teams with managing a budget, discovering a direction of ministry, and taking initiative. Our students consistently tell us that their lives and perspective of ministry have been transformed andthat it impacts the way they do ministry when they return home.
We are looking for students with initiative and independence as well as a desire to walk with God and hang out with non-believers.
