What is a passkey?
A passkey lets you sign in without typing a password. Instead, you use something you already have — like your fingerprint, face, or a PIN on your device.
Why use a passkey?
- Faster — no password to remember or type
- More secure — can't be guessed or stolen like passwords
- Works with Touch ID, Face ID, Windows Hello, or security keys
How to set up a passkey
- Sign in with your password (one last time!)
- Go to your profile and click "Manage Passkeys"
- Click "Add a Passkey" and give it a name (e.g., "My MacBook")
- Follow your device's prompt to save the passkey
How to sign in with a passkey
- On the login page, click "Sign in with Passkey"
- Your device will ask you to verify (fingerprint, face, or PIN)
- That's it — you're in!
