Ski/Snowboard Trip:

On Sunday there is an option for those attending the retreat to be part of an awsome ski day at Nakiska.

Transportation to the hill will be provided for free.

Ski/Snowboard Costs:


Lift Ticket    Adult $52.00  ($42 if skier info. is provided by Feb. 2.)
Ski Rental Package     $25.00
Snowboard Rental Package    $25.00
Group Lesson  $30.00

Hermann Brandt

Alberta Church Strengthening Coordinator for the CCSB

Hermann Brandt serves as special assistant to the church strengthening team for the CCSB. His assignments are to facilitate inter-dependence between churches and church leaders and help churches through transition. He is also serves as men’s ministry team leader for Bow Valley Baptist Church in Cochrane, Alberta, and leads Experiencing God Together weekends for Blackaby Ministries International. Hermann is married, his son is 16 and his daughter is 5.

$40 which includes:

Costs for the ski trip, recreation in Banff or Calgary, Sunday lunch and supper are in addition to the $40 conference fee.

From 9am to 8pm on Sunday there are a number of free time options including:

  • Worship at Bow Valley Baptist Church in Cochrane
  • Ski Trip (Details TBA- we will have a great deal at a major mountain ski resort)
  • Banff/Canmore/Lake Louise Trip (tour & recreation options)
  • Calgary Trip
  • Hang-out time in Cochrane

Seminar Leaders

Dr. Don McNaughton, Professor of Counselling at the Canadian Southern Baptist Seminary.

Dr. McNaughton has maintained a professional counseling practice since 1992 Prior to that time, he has been a mission pilot, evangelist, pastor, counsellor and chaplain to isolated areas of the Canadian west coast and sub-arctic. For more info about Don

Josh and Tracy Mauldin serve as campus ministers/ chaplains at SAIT and the University of Calgary. They have also been the directors of the Calgary M-Fuge conference for the past 2 years.  For more info. about the Mauldins check out the SAIT Interchange web site or the UofCalgary BSM web site.

Kathy Morales serves as the administrative assistant for the CCSB Church Health Team.  Kathy is a conference speaker, a prayer warrier, a leader of conferences, the wife of Jesse (Pastor/church planter of Symons Valley Community Church) and the mother of 4 beautiful girls.

Paul Johnson began his ministry with CCSB in January 1999. Before that he had 22 years' experience pastoring churches in New Brunswick, Saskatchewan and British Columbia. He was a youth pastor for 6 years (75-81) and was Baptist Student Union  (BSU) president at the University of Saskatchewan  in 1971, the year  it began. 

      Paul and his wife have four children, all up and out - Currently he is the volunteer pastor of ROOTS where he loves working with Jr/Sr high and university  Chinese students.  Paul's Blog here Paul has traveled to China twice in recent years and has lead a conference for stealth missionaries there.

Tawa Anderson serves as the English pastor at Edmonton Chinese Baptist Church. In his pastoral role, Tawa ministers to many college and university students and working young adults. For the past 3 years Tawa has also led Bible studies and has helped with the BSM and chaplaincy ministries at the University of Alberta.  Tawa has served on the planning committee for this retreat.
